The findings of a report are available for a workshop held at the Marriott Hotel in Blaby on the 28th and 29th January 2010 for key stakeholders of the S.U.E. at Lubbesthorpe, prepared by David Locke Associates.

The workshop sought to set out what development principles would need to be incorporated into any scheme should a planning application for a Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE) be submitted on land at Lubbesthorpe.

The workshop was organised by the promoters of the urban
extension led by Hallam Land Management, Barratt Homes/David Wilson Homes, Davidson Developments Ltd and the land owners the Enderby Estate represented by Mather Jamie Chartered Surveyors
and was facilitated by the master planning team led
by David Lock Associates with Watermans Boreham on transport issues and FPCR on environmental issues.

The principles of the development were not debated, that will be the subject of the B.D.Council’s Core Strategy but it was re-iterated that Blaby District Council has already identified the Lubbesthorpe site as its preferred location to accommodate
some 4,500 new homes and related facilities.
