L.F.E. parish precept 63% - Submitted by Stuart Coar 31 Mar 2008

So we see a 63% hike in the Parish Council precept. Some say its only £26.00 per year, but looking at the total revenue, last year the parish council received £75,000.00. In 2008, they will receive nearly £125,000.00 - yes people what a HUGE HIKE!!

So if you’re not happy what can you do about it?

Simple pop into the LFE Post Office or Sandhu News Shop on the Hinckley Road and sign the petition. This is being backed by leader of Leicestershire County Council, Mr David Parsons and the Rt. Hon. Stephen Dorell, both having been on BBC Radio Leicester stating their concerns of such an irresponsible and un acceptable increase. It’s no good councillors stating money has run out, that’s rubbish.

£75,000.00 is a very large sum of money now they are going to have nearly DOUBLE that to spend on some CCTV, mods to the Parish Hall and the usual tidying of the park. Oh and don’t forget there may be some new play equipment, mind you if its as good as the basketball / football pen erected some years ago we’ll see it all dismantled in a few years time. (What a waste of £20,000.00 that was)

As for Mr Fox telling us all we need to keep control of our kids on BBC Radio Leicester? – Really who does he think he is? I and I’m sure ALL of you know exactly where your kids are and they are certainly NOT vandalising this parish!

Come on folks THIS IS YOUR CHANCE to get YOUR VOICE HEARD!! - Pop in and sign the petition, it will only take a minute and we will do the rest!! - Be assured we aim to ensure this NEVER happens again and with YOUR help it WONT!! And that’s a PROMISE.
