M1 Widening - What you can do to object Submitted
by: Jim on May 25, 2006
There are a number of things residents can do both individually
or as a group to object to the plans to create the M1 - M69
flyover / link road in the format presented at the local meeting
Support an un-official Alternative
Route drawn by one of our residents
Create an online
petition or why not Join an already established
group there's no point in re-inventing the wheel. Or,
you may even like to offer your services to create a local
action group.
You could also write to the councillors who are on the BDC
Scrutiny Panel who discuss the Impact of the M1 Widening
Process.
This panel was set up to specifically look at issues relating
to the widening of the M1 and in particular
The Impact of the M1 widening process.
To ensure decisions made in relation to the widening of the
M1are in the best interests of residents and the Council.
Review on hold awaiting possible options from the Highways
Agency.
The Panel Members are:
Cllr G Sanders Chairman
Cllr N M Gilson,
Cllr R C Ward,
Cllr D Jennings,
Cllr J T Roper,
Cllr J Springthorpe,
Cllr P N Fox,
Cllr J Weatherstone
Unfortunatley there doesn't appear to have been much discussion
since August
2004 minutes.
Why not write to all the members of the Scrutiny
Panel and ask them what they have been discussing.
